ISR Intake Manifold Review Part 2

I've made some improvements and changes to this manifold since it's been on the Skyline for a couple years. I ramde the coolant system with stainless hardlines and installed better fittings where I could.

What happened to this project
@buhhwee2166 Unfortunately my daily driver was totaled with my old camera inside and stopped making videos for a while. I sold this entire project just for another car. But hopefully in the next year or so I'll actually be building one!
thanks you saved me from a big head aches
@@r33skylineprojects59 Glad to help
Wow thats clean oem+
@@doug774 Thanks!
what's your car RIM and Tires size ?
Did you ever decide if you were building more kits? I think I’m going to build a similar one. Curious what you have found are the best fittings. (And what size you used?)
@mattbuechler8005 Honestly I didn't finalize the kit because of the complex assembly and the manifold that combines the lines and goes to the radiator isn't the best. But if someone found a company that could cnc bend lines I'd start asap!
@mattbuechler8005 The line is 1/2 stainless and the fittings are compression which have been holding up but flare is the best
@@BMcGuinness are the fittings 1/2”OD x1/4NPT? I can’t seem to find the correct ones (in the last week that I’ve looked anyway)
@@BMcGuinnessalso thanks for the response! I blew a stock coolant line underneath the manifold so I said screw it, I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again.
@mattbuechler8005 Thats always the worst. I believe I mentioned fitting sizes in one of the 2 videos at some point. The other route was going to be better rubber lines with AN style fittings which is much more repeatable
Soooooo half the vid is you blabbing about a skyline?
do you have the link to these rims
They were a find on Croooober.com
How does it respond with the 90mm throttle body?
It actually does pretty well, can't use a stock ecu with this I don't think but with tuning you can use all the airflow that comes through
Thats fucking awesome. I have a 347 twin turbo 94 mustang and im DEFINITELY dping this to my housings next!!
Does this require a tune ? After installing or can it work with my stock ecu
I actually don't think I've seen anyone run these on stock ecu but I'd like to see what it does. Any airflow change or especially injectors like new top feeds will definitely need tuning
what did you do for the throttle cable? the one I had in the car originally doesn't reach, i got an S14 cable (supposed to be longer) but from the L bracket the cable doesnt go far enough to actually connect to the throttle body... im at a loss, it looks like our l bracket to throttle body spacing is the same...
In right hand drive a 92 Maxima cable fits right up perfectly that's what I'm using. If left hand drive 300zx has tons of length apparently. Some websites do list the actual length of their cable

Did you figure this out? I’m in the same situation
This is beautiful! Well done sir
Thank you!
How long do these polished housings usually last? thinking to do my intake mani and turbo housing
Mine's been holding up with tons of driving since I made this video, touch-up polish once a year
Came for how to polish a turbo. Stayed for the Klimeks.
Thanks for watching me make a mess lol
if anyone is curious this block hes tearing down is a type sh block. a base h22 is different than this block
noticed knock sensor?
Thank you for this video. I'm from Germany and am building the same intake manifold on my RB25DET. However, one question remains for me: where do I have to connect the connections shown in 2:04 ? I would be very grateful for a short explanation!
Thanks I'm glad it's useful! Those are the vacuum connections for everything on the motor, for everything. Mine is hooked up for brake booster, fuel pressure regulator, ecu, and turbo wastegate. You can use a tee on the less sensitive lines like wastegate and brake booster if you need extra sources 👍🏼 Good luck with the build!
5:38
Any updates on how this held up ?
Honestly held up great, still didn't find a company to cnc bend this honestly
Wouldn’t it be better to just sand blast it with brown aluminum oxide followed by a polish on a wheel and another sand blast but with glass beads . And voila ? Done in 30 mins tops ..
Yeah I mean the access to equipment would've been great but this was a test for manual labor in a basic garage
What throttle cable are you using for it
92 Maxima cable actually fits perfectly
4:07 Nice disturbed in the background :)
Thanks 😉
Bad Ass
Goated 3d designer right here
Thank you 🙏🏼
Update: still running this rebuild at 18 psi! No shaft play and spools quick
I'd be very interested in this kit. Did you ever end up making it?
I only made that one kit so far but still planning on remaking it soon!
Your doing the lords work! Thank you!!!!!
Glad I can help! Shipping out before the end of the month hopefully 🙏🏼
Nice! Did you get the 10w yet? I just did and am looking for best setting. Please indulge if you do! I can't find any suggestions online and don't have a spare test mug for an immediate project. I could rerun until the paint comes off but would GREATLY appreciate a starting point.
Hi I didn't get the 10w but really wanted to upgrade! I like the ease of their software but would really consider a fast co2 laser honestly haha at 100% power on the small laser it takes forever to cut through things
Can you make one for me
THAT EXHAUST LENGTH LOL
I never have a problem with my Milwaukee impact ,I have the same tool u do but use it to tighten the crank bolt so it doesn’t move then impact it at the end ,BUY A IMPACT ,
I have gotten several impacts since this video lol
What size are those rims?
What hood do you have?!!!
That was a custom hood actually!
I’m 60. I remember my Grandparents had this type of car. St Christopher on the dashboard.
You hand bend those coolant pipes correct?
Yes, a little difficult in the tigher areas
1/2" OD x 1/4" NPT?
@@darrylherbert690 1/2 Stainless lines with 1/4 npt compression fittings to the manifold. I'd like to remake this with flared ends to fittings
You have any leaks without flaring the 1/2 tube?
@@darrylherbert690 I actually haven't had any leaks since I used thread sealer and tightened without preload on them
Ct in the house 💯💯
Heyy new subscriber💪🏾💪🏾
Whats the update? Did you rebuild it?
They should have RFID
Did you ever start making a kit for the hard lines?
I've remade parts of my own while testing and might be into a 3rd and final version soon. Works great just looking for better fittings
@BMcGuinness thinking I'm gonna but this manifold for my s15 (has a s13 sr) in a couple weeks I'll check in in a month after I get it powder coated if your doing something like that I'd definitely purchase a set from you
@@shiftcoupe Awesome okay!
Needs some transient tuning for that delay when opening the throttle.
Been all fixed since then
@@BMcGuinnesshow much do you want for it?! I’m serious give me a number
@@brandongriffin3218 I'd certainly consider making a kit for you! In a month or so I'll be taking mine apart for the winter and measuring with a company to make them
A great deed done
Update?
Still working great, drove it yesterday and still holds 500 whp no problem. I have since made stainless coolant lines in another vid (part 2)
I want to get this one. But peope said the throttle body leaks. Or the welds will break. I guess that's not the case.
@ryanmedows6072 Never seen that happen with them, if you're running a MAP setup instead of MAF you'll never even notice a leak anyway
When putting back the timing belt, do I have to put it on a certain way?
Whats your feed and drain setup?
Drain goes in below with the rear nitto head drain where the stock location is, 10an setup. The feed is stock location with a 3an line
wat brnd of injectors r those?, nd can i put'em on a stock rb25det?
Stock injectors are side mount, plus bigger isn't better on a stock setup because the fuel trims will be off. The ecu is preset to have the Injectors open in milliseconds at a time. Bigger injectors make more fuel go thru in those few milliseconds
Where did you find that cup? That's perfect!
Target or something! It's a Zak cup
Did you ever make a kit ? I have a similar (not ISR) intake, I'm sure its the same dimensions.
I've driven mine thousands of miles and it's started leaking only a couple drops so I'll be using different fittings for the next version actually
@@BMcGuinness Well if you come up with a kit I would definitely get one from you.
@@1970PMD Sounds good 👍🏼
